Community Ventures

Community Ventures is a non-profit community development agency committed to revitalizing neighborhoods by helping people acquire the assets and skills they need to achieve independence for themselves, their families and ultimately their neighborhoods. The Center provides small, start-up businesses with affordable, visible office space at below market rates. Located in a highly visible location convenient to downtown, tenants have access to conference rooms, workrooms, computer access and a business library, as well as free parking. The 11,000 square foot building is organized into two components. The primary and largest component is the “Center for Entrepreneurs.” It houses all of the office space for the small businesses that rent office and support spaces. The secondary component houses the administrative offices for the Community Ventures Corporation. The separation simultaneously affords an autonomy of independent businesses to the small business entrepreneurs and maintains the mentorship of CVC while businesses are in incubation. Among the many challenges in developing this property was the need to design and develop the new building on the same property as the existing building without disrupting the business offices.
