Clay Community Center
Mount Sterling, Kentucky
One of the anchor components of Phase 1 of the Clay Community Center is the Higher Education Center located at the main entry to the facility. This center contains 6 classrooms in sizes ranging from 20-person seminar rooms to 60-person lecture rooms. These classrooms are supported by offices and conference facilities to make this a fully functioning satellite campus for regional universities. The entire facility is networked in Cat-5 data distribution and fiber optic data distribution. This network is served by a ISDN high speed land line internet service connection as well as a satellite uplink to Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky. This network serves internally both hard-wired connectivity as well as infrared wireless connectivity, supporting an array of work stations and laptop computers. The system has been designed with the capability to link to the center’s 1000-seat auditorium to accommodate learning center training sessions utilizing the multi-media audio and video projection equipment in this space. Multiple class and seminar sessions can simultaneously be conducted in this facility to accommodate nearly any academic and/or conference need.
