Versailles Baptist Church Addition

The Versailles Baptist Church Addition is located in Versailles, Kentucky. The new construction had a construction budget of $3.1 million dollars and was an addition to the existing building consisting of a new three story connector area and two story classroom, administration area and fellowship hall with a total square footage of approximately 28,300 square feet. The main purpose for the addition was to give the church a much needed large fellowship hall with adjacent kitchen facilities. The space was designed to allow for flexibility in both programmed space and uses, so varying size groups could meet simultaneously if desired. Other program elements of the building were the preschool and nursery spaces. The younger children’s “pod” gives a safe and secure environment for the children, allowing them easy access to play areas and a multi use central area for crafts and games. The classroom spaces were also designed to handle several varying size groups. This was important as the age groups class size fluctuates and the church wanted to use the new space as efficiently as possible. The aesthetics of the building were designed to blend with the existing building and give it a sense of belonging in the downtown setting.
